Jeezy, Mike Jones, and 50 cent are NOT hip hop artists, they are rappers, and not very good ones either! Pete Rock & CL Smooth, A Tribe Called Quest, Souls of Mischief and yes, DIGABLE PLANETS are hip hop artists to tha core!! Someone please tell me what happened! |

# Posted: 10 May 2006 22:27:09 exactly!!! it's all about $$$ and image now. hip hop nowadays, with very few exceptions, is void of soul & intelligence - the lyrics/tone/attitude/vibe, and the beats. it's all EGO! it's totally empty. it's like how bad can it possible get and still actually sell? the image & the sex feeds the $$. it's all business now, rather than truely about music & emotional, creative expression. more and more about conformity and less and less about individuality. the intention used to be: let's create something powerful and deep from all this emotion and passion within, and $$ was usually the end result, which is cool, but now the intention is: let's make $$, be famous, and get hoes - bling bling bling. in the future people will look back on this stuff as a joke |
